Men are to here to protect and die .

This is capt saurabh kalia , who fought kargil war in 1999 and laid his life for his country . In a war you always assume people will die so it is not such a big deal . Surprisingly men do the dying part but as we assume that men are born to protect and die , so this does not really surprise us .
War deaths are no surprise but if the death is brutal and inhuman then? This brave soldier was badly treated by Pakistani troops . He was a 22 year old brave soldier who was encirled by pakistani rangers when ran out of ammunition. Capt kalia and five of his men were brutally tortured by pakistanis . Postmortem reports revealed that Pakistan army had tortured their prisoners by burning their bodies with cigarettes, piercing ear-drums with hot rods, puncturing eyes before removing them, breaking most of the teeth and bones, fractures of the skull, cutting the lips, chipping of nose, chopping off limbs and private organs of these soldiers besides inflicting all sorts of physical and mental tortures and finally shooting them dead, as evidenced by the bullet wound to the temple.
I think most of my countrymen dont know about it. His father Dr N.k. Kalia is still struggling hard to proove that this gruesome act by pakistan army is actully a crime. Meanwhile , in New Delhi everybody is  at India Gate with a candle in hand .  I wonder how many of them know capt Kalia and his brave soldiers who were brutally murdered in front the world some 12 years back. Why these people never thought of protesting against this cruelity ? There are so many petition signing for rape why no petition signing for justice for saurav kalia ? Because he was a man and this country does not have any feeling towards men . I wonder how his family must be reacting to this stupid protest of people , they must have thought that their son's sacrifice has gone in vain . No people's reaction on his brutal murder , no movement for the young death.
His father said somehwhere that "iam ashamed of being an indian". And he is right . His father has been moving from pillar to post and has been approaching various national and international organizations to put pressure on Pakistan to identify, book and punish persons responsible for the inhuman and unpardonable crime of keeping his son in captivity for three weeks and subjecting to unprecedented brutal torture as evident from his body. But in spite of his great efforts he is yet to achieve a fruitful result.
Meanwhile nation is busy with the rape protests . So how does it matter if some man was tortured and brutally murdered in a war because men are here to protect and die .

  1. Jyoti ji, I totally understand the point raised here is 100% correct but it is practically not possible because to achieve any results even after protest.. Reason being, it is international affair, we can only request them for trial in this matter. As it applies on many situations where if u do any crime in India and if you escape abroad. You cant be prosecuted until u r back. So in short Pakistani soldiers are out of our constitution. and when they are not accepting theen nothing can be done..
Just to let you know.. If a defence personal is kidnaped from border or anywhere, his body is killed and buried or he is just missing even from duty for any reason even during war.. then he is not considered dead and termed as "bhagoda". So his family does not get any pension or money which they get in case of death.. My father is in army and this happened with one of my friend.. Its been 7 years.. His father went missing from Assam posting while he was in a danger zone fighting against ULFA agrwadi..
